Harbor Beach Community House Hosts Open House to Celebrate the New Renovation

You are invited to the Harbor Beach Community House Renovation Open House. The event will be held on Friday, January 22 from 5-8pm and on Saturday, January 23 from 1-4pm. We are celebrating the completion of the renovation of the Community House with refreshments, tours of the building and a prize drawing.

We started the renovation project in May 2009. The project was funded by a $750,000 loan from USDA Rural Development. Renovations to the building included a new front entry with an elevator and new stairs. The Scouts Room, Woman’s Club Room, and Common Room were renovated to make them accessible from the elevator. A new space was created for the Children’s Library and the old Children’s Library was renovated into a History Room that will hold collections of local, maritime and other historical materials of interest. The main lobby of the building was also given a facelift.
