Welcome to Harbor Beach

Harbor Beach

Enjoy the stunning sunrise over Lake Huron. Located on the eastern shore of Lake Huron in Michigan's thumb, Harbor Beach is surrounded by farmland and woods. The area offers an outdoor lover's paradise with unlimited opportunities for boating, sailing, fishing swimming, scuba diving, water skiing, camping, and fun family recreation opportunity throughout the whole year. A bicycle/pedestrian walking path connects the camp ground, marina, parks, beach, and the community's business district. The world's greatest man-made harbor provides great fishing opportunities from aboard a boat, or from the break wall. Trescott Park is an access site for the new Tip of the Thumb Heritage Water Trail, a 90 mile trail along Lake Huron's coast line.

All Merchants Open for Business Despite Detour North of Town

Road construction started Monday, May 14th on M25 at Swaze Rd. M25 is completely closed at that point. Even though the bridge is way North of town, MDOT posted road closed signs south of town. The signs leave you with the impression that M25 is closed at M142 in the center of town. Rest assured all businesses North of State St. will be assessible for the entire construction project. Simply ignore the detour signs if you need to visit merchants North of the center city.
The project is expected to be completed in August.

Let's Go Fishing!

Photo of winners of offshore tourneyHarbor Beach offers plenty of opportunity to enjoy your favorite sport early in the year. There are several Lake Huron tournaments here in Harbor Beach that have been growing is participants and prize money. Early indications are that these tournaments should be well attended again this year. If you’re not driven to compete, there’s still lots to enjoy at these tournaments. Just stop by at the afternoon weigh-in and you’re sure to get excited and motivated to get out there and fish. You’ll see plenty of really big fish and most of the teams are more than willing to share their techniques with you. (Most fisherman love to brag!)

Harbor Beach Lighthouse ImageThe City of Harbor Beach and the Harbor Beach Chamber of Commerce have collaborated with other "sun rise side" communities in publishing a travel website at www.bluewater.org. The group has recently added a 360° Virtual Tour capability. The film crew took a boat ride out to our Lighthouse and was able to do a great job of capturing our treasure. There are also Virtual Tours of many of our Harbor Beach businesses.
